Me vs. Bagels.

Hey,

So this post actually is because of this ongoing argument with my dad. He bought bagels today as he usually get’s fresh bread on Saturday mornings. God Bless Him. However, I want to like bagels. I really do. But most bagels are like 300-400 calories before you even put any toppings on. That depresses me. Though I suppose if you eat it for breakfast there is still a chance for you to burn it off through the day. I have always been repulsed by the yes—-consistently verifiable fact— that bagels are equivalent to five slices of bread. I would never eat five slices of bread in one go so therefore I am rarely able to justify eating a bagel. Let alone with cream cheese or regular cheese or anything. Plus it makes me feel kind of nauseous.

I will concede though, they are good, but they also kind of make me sick? I have been reading up on gluten and that doesn’t seem all that surprising now.

I will say if you want to work out long enough to burn off that bagel then it might be worth it. However, I’m pretty lazy and will be getting ready to start working out again so I don’t really want to compromise my diet. It’s hard enough to motivate ones self to work out in the first place let alone to work out twice as hard because of one bad food choice. No thanks.

In short, no Dad, I’ll pass on the bagel.

Until next time,
