3 Day Cleanse. Lord Help Me.

Hey there,

So I’ve spent a little bit of time researching how this cleanse is going to go. I am dreading it but I am also really excited for the challenge. After doing some research I realized a 3 day cleanse would probably work best for me as that sort of intensity for 7 or 14 days would be brutal and thus the 3 day plan was chosen. A lot of cleanse plans are a bit ridiculous as they are essentially liquid diets. I’m not so much into that. I settled on the fruit flush by Jay Robb as the basis for my cleanse. I intend to tweak it as the first it has participants consuming only protein shakes for the duration of day 1. I’m not really into that and I feel like that can’t be safe.

The purpose of a cleanse is to rid the body of toxins and built up waste. I’m not so much in it for weight loss (nor is this entire program\journey about weight loss) but I am in it to start fresh. The reality is I have accumulated some weight gain from eating poorly due to studying etc as well as some really shiteous eating habits. Fml.

Here is the basic outline:

Forbidden Foods :(:

  • Added sugar
  • processed foods or beverages
  • Caffeine
  • wheat\gluten
  • Eggs
  • Dairy
  • Peanut Products
  • Fruit Juice (these disgust me anyway)
  • Alcohol
  • Soy*

* Not sure I buy into that.

Day 1 consists of protein drinks from 8am-4pm for a total of 5. Then at 6pm: 3 to 6 cups raw vegetable salad, 3-6 oz lean chicken and 1 tablespoon olive oil.

Day 2 & 3 has participants eating assorted fruit from 8am-4m and then 3-6 cups of raw vegetable salad, 1\2 an avocado and a protein drink.

From what I can tell, as this diet is actually cited by livestrong that it might be legitimate after all. However, I’m not into a protein-drinks-all-day kind of thing. That seems like I’d be good to go until I had to go pee and I’m not into that.

I think what I intend to do is instead of that 12pm protein shake on Day 1, I’ll have a light salad with some shrimp tossed in just salt and pepper. And since I am expected to consume a lot of veggies I think it is only appropriate that I also purchase (light :() hummus for dipping.

Well I think I have outlined a plan. I’ll keep you posted.

I’ll be working on a grocery list imminently and I’ll let you guys know what I come up with.

Until next time,
